CONTRACEPTIVE METHODS
There are several contraceptive methods to prevent not only pregnancy, but mainly to prevent sexually transmitted diseases.
NATURAL METHODS
- Table
- Coitus interrupted
- Cervical mucus
They are called natural because they do not use any chemical, organic or external component to guarantee their effectiveness. It is important to note that they are not so safe methods; quite the opposite. In any case, they depend only on the control of the partners.
HORMONAL METHODS
- Oral and vaginal pill
- injection
- subcutaneous implants
- vaginal ring
- pill of the next day
- contraceptive patch.
All of them have, in their composition, a certain dose of hormones, hence the name: Hormonal methods. These prevent ovulation, making the possibility of pregnancy extremely remote.
BARRIER METHODS
- Male condom
- Female condom
- Diu
- Diaphragm
- Spermicide
They are so called because they act as barriers for the passage of sperm to the egg, preventing fertilization. They can be external barriers, such as condoms, or internal, when there is a combination of hormones or other substances, such as the copper IUD or progesterone, and the spermicide.
DEFINITIVE METHODS
- Troop ligation
- Vasectomy
Methods that, in principle, are irreversible. Therefore, they are called definitive.
