Adolescence sex
PRE AND
The appearance of puberty, from 10, 11 years old, marks the beginning of adolescence,
a period marked by multiple changes: biophysiological, psychological, intellectual, social. In both sexes, puberty appears accompanied by new sexual sensations and feelings originated by the increase in hormonal production that makes adolescents feel more intensely sexual desire and excitement.
The body is redesigned and the various bodily transformations will provoke a new image of itself. In turn, psychological and social transformations will also lead the adolescent to have a new image of others, feeling the desire to try new relationships, new ways of being with their peers and exploring their sexuality. Child concerns are replaced by new focuses of interest and the predisposition to compromise with different types of relationships begins. In fact, it is from this age that the adolescent forms his / her sexual identity, that is, he / she reflects on himself / herself and on his / her sexuality, on the emotions and on the desire he / she feels towards others, which can be of the same sex, of the other sex or of both sexes.
This way, this phase can be more or less complex, filled with fears, doubts and questions that must be understood and answered with serenity, patience and unconditional support from parents and other educators. Sexual awakening in adolescence must then be accompanied by an education for responsibility, transmitting to young people that being sexually responsible means respecting and enjoying fundamental rights and implies that people do not suffer any kind of pressure, discrimination or violence, whatever be your sexual identity and orientation.
With this perspective in mind, we will ensure that adolescents experience their sexual awakening in a healthy way, promoting responsible decision-making, their self-confidence and their self-esteem.
